My Journey As A Muslim

Image
I am a born Muslim. But my real journey to become an actual Muslim started with my grandmother. I learned to pray salah from my grandmother. She is no more. From my very childhood she always used to motivate me to learn how to pray. She always took me with her while praying. She taught me many duas and surahs. Every night when we talked together with the whole family, grandmother used to tell many stories about Islam. This is how I started to know my religion. I don’t know why but I believed in Allah a lot since childhood. Because I’ve always felt that Islam has logic. Our Qur’an is a way of life. There is not one single line that can mislead a person. From my childhood I used to recite Qur’an with it’s meaning and I’ve alw

Letting the stories Die: A letter To Our Grandparents

Image
Do we really need to let the stories die? My dear Grandma, Every time I look at you or any old person in the streets, to me, you smell like nostalgia, and my heart aches as if I am about to lose something huge. I know you are not the history book, yet it feels like you are carrying the whole world's history in your eyes, way of speaking, food & your touch, everything! Well, I have to praise your patience. I cannot imagine waiting a month just to receive a single text! However, you did wait! "When my father died, I got the news after 7 days because the letter was late to deliver. I couldn't see my father for the last time." I can see the sadness in your eyes a hundred times you told me the same story. I also see the awe in your eyes when you talk in video chat with aunts who live overseas. I bet you regret not having these at that time! But don't feel sad you are a time machine, Grandma! You have seen everything, from sending letters and telegrams to button pho

Photography : A different angle of visualization

Image
Photography is the whole world full of adventures, interesting events, stories, games of colors and light. As one of the most interesting and exciting forms of art, it appeared a long time ago, and to this time has been greatly influencing the human life. In the 19th century, for example, the adherents of positivism believed that photography is a  science   that allows to record reality. Photography, both art and science, has constantly been improved by different artists, inventors, scientists, and engineers.  We are all accustomed to believe by taking pictures we capture the best moments of our life, and photographs help to recall the events of the past. However, there is much more to tell. A photographer is a painter who depicts his life on a canvas by conveying certain emotions or experiences, and who describes reality the way he or she sees it or wants it to be. So, we cannot always be sure whether a photograph reflects reality with the highest accuracy or vice versa, hides it. L

We all, more or less, have played House of the dead with our siblings or GTA with our friends. The quarrel, the laughter, everything echoes through our head the moment we hear the word gaming. It’s a nostalgia that only brings a big smile on our faces and makes us feel the urge to go back and sit in front of the desktop screen to play the pixelated games, again and again. Propaganda and misinformation in media

Image
Collected from: TheNewsHome False news and propaganda are serious problems nowadays which can manipulate and mislead people and can cause severe problems in our society. Short brief: The way that media scholars have tried to make sense of information that is harmful or false in some way is not neutral, but influenced by historical and political factors. There are four main ways of thinking about this kind of information: propaganda studies, ideology and culture analysis, conspiracy theory, and misinformation and its effects. However, most of the research on misinformation does not recognize these different perspectives and how they shape the problem and the solution. Instead, they have focused on another wa
